My honest opinion is that this theory does not apply in this day and age. Why? BECAUSE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION. (Thank you, Internet!) Two things that were very limited in past history.
Knowledge is power, and the WWW and email have vastly changed the way Knowledge is dispersed today. Today, via the Internet, Knowledge can be attained instantly and spread exponentially.
The power of the Internet has awakened the citizenry faster than ever before. With a just a few keystrokes, in the comfort of your home, you can educate millions of people. Nowhere is this phenomenon more visible than in the arena of politics. Take ALIPAC for example Via this web forum, citizens defeated 5 amnesties in just one year. I doubt that we could have done that without our computers.
This is my reasoning that that theory no longer is valid. Advances in Information and Communications in the latter part of the 20th Century has changed all that. With an Internet-informed citizenry, we serve as the Govt's "check and balance." Our govt knows this. They've heard our voices, read our faxes and emails. As long as We The People continue to log on, we will not let our Govt bring us to ruin.
GOD BLESS THE INTERNET!PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.

+1 We need to eliminate property taxes. When we have to pay property taxes on our land year after year we are only renters to the government.
In places where there are large numbers of illegal aliens there seems to always be a need in building more schools, more teachers etc. which leads to higher property taxes. People will eventually be unable to pay their property taxes and will lose their homes.

Have to agree on the tax issue, it iskilling people. I have a friend that was lucky enough to get a house with Habitat for Humanity (now they are only building "condo's") and it happens to be on the nice side of town. Although her original house payment, which includes her insurance and taxes, is $400.00 a month, she said that one local school based group called about donating $$$ to the local school according to her assesed value of over $250,000.00.
They stated that her donation could be as much as her property taxes, which was somewhere in the amount of $3000.00 a year. Although she explained hers was a Habitat house, they still insisted that if she paid the property tax on it, she could afford a donation to them (the audacity of them to propose this anyways, but to insist that after they found out hers was gained through a low-income home program made it all that more appalling).
My own mother owns a tiny one bedroom, older mobile home (it would not even be allowed to travel the roads in a move anymore) in a rental spot, and the county wants her to pay almost $250.00 a year in personal property tax on it!!!!!
Our landlord told us that our the rent he collects here, right now, is only 2/3 more than what he pays out in property tax (so 1/3 of our rent is essentially for taxes only)."In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, Brave, Hated, and Scorned. With some of the recent Executive Orders signed by President Bush giving him extreme power and authority and with some of the treaties and other agreements that we have made granting authority over us to international organizations and courts, and with LOST looming on the horizon, and with the SPP/NAU plot, a very big threat is out there.
President Bush sided with the international court in regards to the recent illegal alien gang rape murderer against his own State of Texas and the rule of law here in the United States. If we become submissive to the United Nations enough and to international governing bodies, they may gain control over much of what is done within the United States. Out goes the Constitution and our form of laws and governing.
We must remain vigilant in our efforts.
Rev. 1:1Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I came across this eMail today. I've read it before, but wanted to revive it since we are now in election season. Its really scary, especially if you are one who believes history repeats itself....
HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?
This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.
I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.
How Long Do We Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury."
"From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years"
"During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage"
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

We are in a form of bondage. We are forced to pay taxes that prosper illegal immigrants, while programs for seniors and otheres are being cut.
