Thread: Let's US send Pennies to Mexico

Illegals came to the U.S. because Mexico can not provide for its own citizens.

Mexico does not complain when US taxpayers take care of their citizens.

Why not send them money ourselves?!

I propose a "Let US send our pennies to Mexico" campaign

Most of US do not use them. By helping Mexico take care of its citizens, perhaps we can reduce the number of people who came here illegally.

Great Idea but I am afraid with the cost of shipping these days it would cost us more to ship them than they are worth.....but the biggest problem is seems like no matter how much we give Nexico the money never gets in the hands of the people who actually need it! Or any other country for that matter.

Its true that the cost of S/H would most likely be greater than the pennies themselves...

I think(hope) most people would not mind the cost of S/H to bring attention to Mexico's inability to care for its own.
Remember Mexico is far from poor.

Picture the headlines- "US school children send pennies to help Mexico!"
"Stores hold penny drives for Mexico" etc.

I will not give my pennies to anyone as I desperately need them when I go through McDonald's drive-through and my bill is $3.03. And didn't Bushy just began shipping money to Mexico to fight the war on drugs. Our pennies are already on the way, those pennies being US taxpayer pennies. I would rather have our pennies raised by school kids going to support local farms, so at least we have an idea that our food was not grown with sewer water.

The point is to EMBARRASS Mexico so the gov't takes care of their people.

How would someone feel if their neighbors collected pennies to help support their family?

You are so right! We give and give...and our hard-earned tax money only goes into the pockets of the wealthy in other nations. I wouldn't mind it if it got to the people who really need the darn money!
