One of the numerous crimes the English invaders charged against the French patriot Joan of Arc was her DISLIKE of the BURGUNDIANS for being ALLIES of the ENGLISH in the HUNDRED Years' War. Some of the English and French Catholic prelates and statesmen at Joan's trial accused her of FAILING to LOVE her NEIGHBOR! However, I believe that Joan was ENTIRELY justified in her aversion toward the Burgundians--they were FRENCH, and by SUPPORTING England, were BETRAYING their country! The French clergy, lawyers, and civilians who testified against Joan were ALSO traitors! However, despite the tragic and unjust execution of Joan by fire, her persecutors did NOT ultimately win--SHE did, and that fact gloriously culminated with Joan's CANONIZATION by--ironically, the CATHOLIC Church--in 1920. (please remember, Joan's predicament is REPEATING itself NOW in the lives of American Christians--Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox--who are STRUGGLING to be GOOD Christians and yet TRUE American patriots at the SAME time!)
