Thread: PBS Programing

I wrote PBS the other day complaining to them about the unfair, biased, left leaning programs they air.
Thought I would share what they wrote back.
As far as I'm concerned, it's just more drivvel coming from the drooler!

KCET is committed to exploring and encouraging discussion on
significant
issues facing our viewers. In pursuing a broad spectrum of viewpoints,
we
understand that some of our viewers will take exception to some of the
ideas they hear expressed. We believe that presentation of differing
points of view stimulates thoughtful dialogue.

While our goal is to challenge you to think and to consider new ideas,
we
do not advocate partisan positions. Our goal is to provide a forum for
in-depth discussion through issue forums, candidate debates and regular
programs like Life & Times, NOW, Washington Week in Review and The
NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. Through this variety we aim to provide a
balance of opinions over time.

KCET has always prided itself on providing a variety of programs and
services to everyone in our diverse community, and in offering a broad
spectrum of viewpoints. In fact, we were delighted to learn that in
market research, the vast majority of the 700 people randomly called
viewed KCET as being neither to the right nor the left of political or
social issues.

To help evaluate and improve our effort to offer a fair discussion we
actively solicit viewer comments and suggestions. We read and respond
to
thousands of viewer letters and e-mails each year. We believe that
this
ongoing dialog is critical in helping us achieve our goal of offering
you
challenging programs that present a broad range of opinions.

We hope the variety of voices on KCET will stimulate an interest in
issues
and ideas essential to creating informed public policy. We hope you
value
KCET as a forum for bringing you a broad range of informed opinion.

You gave me an idea, so I wrote them back basically saying,
That would be fine if what you just stated was the truth, but it very clearly isn't. Just more PC drivvel coming from someone named "Santos."

I too have emailed my complaint of bias on their part.I did not notice bias until the last couple years and was very surprised.They no longer get a contribution from me.

I suppose our emails disappear quickly.

I'm sure they do, and I've noticed the difference in the programing this past year or so also.
