    Question concerning hiring illegal aliens

    A friend of mine has a family business which used to hire workers w/o papers. They've cleaned up there act, and haven't hired anybody w/o the appropriate paperwork for about 2 years now. Are they in danger of prosecution or do they get any brownie points for doing the right thing now?

    Welcome to ALIPAC. Please thank you friends for cleaning up their act and encourage them to join either the E Verify system or one of the many other systems offered by ICE to screen employees.

    You can find more information about these systems in the ALIPAC ACTION PANEL found on the top blue tool bar above.

    Also, if there are currently no illegal aliens working at your friend's business, they should be OK.

    I am not aware of ICE pressing charges against anyone that used to hire illegals. This coupled with the fact the immigration enforcement levels are almost non existent, your friends should not be worried.

    Just make sure they are using the free online tools from ICE provided to employers upon request to make 100 percent sure they are only hiring Americans and LEGAL immigrants.

    Wow! You guys are really on the ball! I wasn't expecting a reply for at least a couple of days. I will definitely pass the information on. If only the government were as vigilant as you at addressing these problems, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in right now. Thanks again!
