    Rep. Raul Labrador blames ‘establishment’ for Trump’s primary win

    Duh...
    ~~~
    By Seth McLaughlin - The Washington Times - Thursday, June 9, 2016
    Rep. Raul Labrador said Thursday that last ditch efforts to derail Donald Trump from be crowned the GOP nominee will fail as long as establishment Republicans continue to refuse to embrace a conservative alternative to the New York billionaire.
    Mr. Labrador said the calls to dump Mr. Trump at the Republican National Convention next month could work if the party rallied around Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas or another candidates beloved by conservatives.
    “If that is what they were saying then I think some of us would say ‘Hey, maybe we can do this because they are actually getting behind a conservative,’” the Idaho Republican said during a “conversations with conservatives” event on Capitol Hill.
    Hugh Hewitt, a conservative talk radio host, said this week that the Republican National Committee must convince Mr. Trump to pull the plug on his candidacy or figure out a way to do stop him at the convention.
    Hillary Clinton will win if Mr. Trump is the nominee and the party will suffer scores of losses in House, Senate and gubernatorial races across the country, Mr. Hewitt warned.
    Mr. Labrador said the same reason Mr. Trump won is the same reason why the party is failing to field a clear alternative: the establishment still wants to replace Mr. Trump with candidates like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney or Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
    “If they actually had a plan to get [Kentucky Sen] Rand Paul, or to get [Utah Sen.] Mike Lee or to get Ted Cruz to the top of the ticket, some of us might actually get behind that, but that is not their intent,” he said. “Their intent is to have their preferred establishment candidate because they don’t want to listen to the 70 percent of the American people that rejected them in this last election.”
    I think 70% of Republicans are going to reject any member of Congress who doesn't stand up for Trump during this election process. Just my opinion.
