Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will leave office with a popularity rating of about 20 percent.

But if you are pressed for time or simply cannot stomach the idea of reading more Navarrette tripe, here’s a brief summary:

In a meeting with the Union-Tribune editorial board, Schwarzenegger repeated his often-stated position that illegal immigrants are not to blame for the state’s economic crisis.

Illegal immigrants, continued Schwarzenegger, contribute to California’s economy by paying taxes and doing jobs in “hard-to-staff industriesâ€

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION HAS PLAYED A LARGE PART FOR THE REASON THAT CALIFORNIA AND SEVERAL OTHER STATES ARE IN DIRE STRAITS AND THIS GOVENOR KNOWS IT. NORTH CAROLINA IS JUST ONE OF MANY STATES IN BAD SHAPE BECAUSE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. ITS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE THE GOV.OF N.C. WAS TALKING ABOUT CUTTING BACK ON THE EDUCATION SYSTEM. THAT WOULD HAVE MEANT LAYING OFF TEACHERS AND A LOT OF OTHER THINGS THAT WOULD SHORT CHANGE OUR SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS. I THOUGHT THIS WOMAN WAS GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PEOBLEM HERE IN OUR STATE. PEOPLE WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED AND I GUESS SHE IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. KAY HAGEN IS A FLIP FLOPPER ALSO. WHY YOU CAN E-MAIL THIS WOMAN AND SHE WILL NOT CONTACT YOU. SO I FOR ONE WILL MAKE SURE THAT WHEN ITS TIME TO RE-ELECT HER, I WILL VOTE FOR WHO EVER IS RUNNING AGAINST HER.

Kay Hagen wasn't even close to being where former Sen. Doyle was on the immigration issue. Any North Carolina resident that has serious concerns about our immigration problems and voted for Hagen over Doyle deserves what they get from the lady. Personally, I think it was a very said day for North Carolina when we traded Doyle for Hagen.

Kay Hagen wasn't even close to being where former Sen. Doyle was on the immigration issue. I agree I sure knew better than to vote for her. Doyle always stood up for us when it came to Illegals. And I sure didn't vote for Perdue either She is not and hasn't ever been on our side

you've got that right when it comes to Dole vs Hagen.I did not vote for her and I'm glad I didn't. I think its ashame that our own government has turned its back on us in favor of those who are in the country illegally. I mean just look at how many illegals have illegal jobs here and the high number of American citizens and legal citizens out of work. This makes no sense at all and the people in Washington knows it. there never should have been an amnesty in 86. The same people who agreed with that one did not keep their promise. And now some of the same liars are at it again. Its us against them.

I THOUGHT PURDUE WAS AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. AT LEAST SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO CRACK DOWN ON IT WHEN SHE WAS TRYING TO GET VOTES. WELL NOTHING SHOULD SURPRISE ANY OF US ABOUT THESE FOLKS.THEY WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO GET VOTES.BY THE WAY,I DIDN'T VOTE FOR HER EITHER. Dole losing to Hagan will illustrate my next point to a T. If scum like Kennedy, Kerry, Frank, Clinton, McCain and Specter keep getting elected and reelected while anti illegal alien politicians like Dole keep getting kicked out in favor of open borders supporting scumbags then what hope is there for this country?

All I keep hearing from people is how much they hate these open border politicians and want them gone. All I keep hearing about is how this country is majority conservative. Then why does open borders politicians keep getting elected and reelected and we continue to become more and more of a socialist, communist third world nation and the politicians we elect keep getting worse and worse?

I just don't see this country lasting much longer. Maybe a few more years, 10 tops before it's over. As the US goes, so does the rest of the world because I don't see the rest of the world having the will to stand up to the evil that is permeating around the globe.

I see this country becoming a third world nation with maybe a few states, cities here and there that might remain borderline second world/first world status. But all the major cities and states are all but gone.

If America doesn't wake up and soon then I don't see any way we can stem the tide. We just can't go on as a nation like this much longer. Surely the Democrats will self destruct like they always do and I see that happening now, but the Republicans don't seem like they have learned a damn thing in the past few years and if the illegals get amnesty and become the majority then it's not going to matter anyway. America doesn't have the guts or brains to enact a third party to boot out the two worthless and corrupt parties.
