Senate to the HOUSE.. what then?

I am from the understanding that the HOUSE is MUCH 'for the people'. If this thing gets past the Senate, can't the HOUSE just crush it? And why don't they just create their OWN version - the House that is.

The one I saw that some repbulicans drew up was rather to my liking..
And can you imagine, they wanted to make ENGLISH the Official language. Wow, what a progressive idea!

Since this fight, I am starting to learn about how all the processes work in our government. It is my understanding that most people do not believe this bill could pass the house. I am still trying to figure this stuff out so hopefully someone with more experience can tell us!!

This is the $100,000 question. I wonder what back-dealing has been going on while we have been watching the Senate. I doubt Bush would be pursuing this with such fervor unless he had some idea that it has a chance to pass the House. I shudder to think if this thing somehow makes it to Bush's desk. I can imagine a mariachi band behind him at the signing.
