While we are all lining up for or against Romney and his response we are missing an even more important point, much more important and significant than whether or not up to 800k or so illegal immigrant youths get more free passes from us taxpayers. The key issue here is that Obama is once again circumventing Congress and assuming powers and authority that belong to congress, not the executive branch. Granted, as President he could blanket pardon these youths, but that is not what he is stating in his policy. A pardon would keep them from prosecution, but would not change their legal status. The only way to change their legal status legitimately is via legislation, not executive order, The law that defines legal vs illegal immigration status must be modified to accommodate the policy changes Obama wishes. I read this morning that Rep Steve King (Iowa) plans to file suit to stop implementation of Obama's policy. He views this as a separation of powers issue, and says he successfully opposed such conflict in a state case in Iowa where the governor at the time assumed authority he did not legally possess.
Bottom line here is that, bad policy or no, this is a CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUE."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO

We all know that Romney is a flip flopper, at least he is not a dyed in the wool communist like Obama. We will have to have 24/7 pressure on him so he flip flops our way and does what is best for the American people and this country. I think we all know in our gut what Romney is from his history of repeated flip flops. A person's history or past actions is always the best predictor of the person's future actions.

Its a game of politics. Sad to say the choice is Obama, Romney, or not voting which is just another vote for Obama pretty much. Now we clearly know where Obama stands and know with Obama we are simply doomed as a nation. This leaves the only choice as Romney whether you like it or not.
Now Romney like all politicians knows how to play the cards and get as much as they can, risk is if he actually does flip flop. Now the conservatives and the independents know Obama is simply bad business so are already on Romneys side if they are ever going to be. Whats left is Romney trying to get more of the moderate Dems which are going to be more swayed by someone seeming to be willing to listen to ideas and not wanting to take the *harsh* way as the demorats put it. This means he has to play that he would listen to alternatives that are more middle ground but also fix the *issue* without simple 100% deportation. After all they are buying into the whole *poor kids* routine.
Its just politics and he's trying to garnish as many middle grounders from Obama's side as possible. The real question is when he is President does he actually give in or allow simply give half an ear to the *Dream Act* like fix before he shakes his head no and deport saying their was no choice at this time but full enforcement.

Any talk of a third party coming to the rescue is totally absurd at best and naively dangerous at worst. I wish it weren't so but we must deal with the political environment in which we find ourselves. Look at it this way, if Obama wins we have NO chance. His die is cast. If Romney wins, he is at least a work in progress, allowing the probability of being influenced by rational discussion. Additionally, there WILL be a comprehensive changing of the guard in Congress and our core strength lies in our ability to mold the opinions of the decision makers. We can't lose sight of that fact. The Tea Party, love 'em or hate 'em, has been involved in extraordinary grassroots efforts to get conservative, constitutional, country loving patriots in positions of authority. This is key to the "one two" punch that will be delivered in November.
...I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...
