Trey Gowdy Grubered Us With Fake ‘Cromnibus’ Vote

BOOM! I Was Right, Trey Gowdy Grubered Us With Fake ‘Cromnibus’ Vote

    Posted by BC

I caught a little flack for calling out Gowdy’s vote on the Cromnibus bill. I had been watching him because I was sure that he would be among those who caved. He wasn’t. Gowdy supporters were pleased to inform me that I had gotten it wrong. Gowdy had indeed voted against Boehner’s sellout bill. Trey “The Bulldog” Gowdy was proven a true patriot. But was he really?

While listening to a rewind of Rush last night, one of his callers caught my ear. He was absolutely livid that his congressman had voted for the procedural vote and then voted against the same spending bill when it came time for the final passage. I turned up the volume a little. His caller was mad, and rightly so, that his congressman had played him for a fool. Wait, what?

Rush went on to explain that the only real chance conservatives had to kill the bill was in the all-important procedural vote. A bill that makes it through the rules vote gains political momentum. So the rules vote is what truly separated the posers from the patriots.
So how did Trey Gowdy vote? Here is the list of TRUE patriots who held their ground. See if you can find him in the list.

(Breitbart) -Time for voting had run out minutes before, and briefly the nays—those against the rule—had the majority. At least one Republican had switched a vote from being against the rule to for it, at which time the presiding officer used procedural chicanery to quickly call the vote passed.

Republican Reps. Justin Amash (R-MI), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Dave Brat (R-VA), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Paul Broun (R-GA), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), Walter Jones (R-NC), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Steve King (R-IA), Raul Labrador (R-ID), Tom Massie (R-KY), Bill Posey (R-FL), Matt Salmon (R-AZ) and Steve Stockman (R-TX) held the line and voted no. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) switched his vote from nay to yay at the last minute.

Gowdy had a chance to stop the bill in procedural vote, but refused. One vote would have stopped it, but the Bulldog hid under the porch — opting for a meaningless show no vote in the second round.
I will admit that the constant betrayals from so-called conservative leaders have made me somewhat “nihilistic.” But I get it right more often than I did when I was Pollyannaish.

It figures. Seems there are only about 10 trustworthy people in all of Congress! I'm no longer sure that our republic can be saved.
