Wacko Birds Strike Back! Sen John McCain Censured by Republicans in 2 AZ Counties

    Posted on January 12, 2014 by BMartin1776

Glenn Beck announced the censure friday ending it by saying “wouldn’t that be nice if that would pass?” Well it did in a massive landslide vote!

It is time for John McCain to leave the republican party since he REFUSES to retire. I am sick and tired of people taking a back step with McCain over his military service. His actions are more in line with democrats and he should not be given a pass because of his service in Vietnam. Thank you for your service but please get the hell out of politics you backstabbing progressive… and take your useless, arrogant, know-nothing, spoiled brat, self-avowed progressive daughter with you!

An entire county just voted against McCain, is it not a clear enough message the people are done with this progressive masquerading as a conservative republican? It would be nice if other AZ counties would follow and we saw this repeated around the country starting with the other progressive masquerading as a conservative republican Lindsey Graham. All you progressives in the GOP you do realize we will clean house of all of you while we go on the attack against the closet communist democrats right?! The carnage and division you all have created cannot be hidden anymore we are on to all of you at this point.

Progressive republicans do yourselves a favor and retire!

While you all continue to put up a fight we the people will do everything in our power to stop you including to #DefundtheGOP if you refuse to leave! This is going to be a very expensive campaign year for all you millionaires in DC, you’ve gotten richer while we pay the price for your corruption.

Arizona’s Maricopa County Republicans Censure John McCain for Abandoning Values

    by Matthew Boyle | Breitbart

The Maricopa County Republican Party in Arizona formally censured Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Saturday evening by an overwhelming 1150-351 vote, Breitbart News has learned.

Maricopa County is Arizona’s most populous county and includes Phoenix within its borders. The official GOP body’s rebuke undermines McCain’s reelection chances should he decide to run for the Senate again in 2016.

“As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates,” the formal censure resolution reads. “Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened.”

McCain draws ire of local Republicans

By Neil Young | The Daily News

BULLHEAD CITY — A majority of precinct committee members of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee passed a resolution to censure U.S. Sen. John McCain.

“We are unhappy with Sen. McCain over his voting record, his lack of decorum towards tea party conservatives in the Senate, and he’s actually resorted to calling them names,” said former state senator Ron Gould, Republican Central Committee chairman. Gould was referring to McCain’s calling some of his colleagues “wacko-birds.”

Gould also weighed in on Arizona’s junior senator, Jeff Flake, who was elected in 2012.

“I’m not too pleased with Sen. Flake’s voting record,” Gould said. “When he was in the House, he was one of the most conservative members.” But once he took office, “Right out of the gate, he jumped on the amnesty bandwagon,” Gould said. “Hopefully his voting record will improve.”

I think the language the have in that censure resolution is spot on. John McCain lied to all of the people of Arizona to be reelected two years ago. He swore up and down he would not support amnesty then he went to DC and voted for Rubio's S. 744 with all of the Senate Democrats and passed an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.

How can anything get better in America on any topic with people that lie as bad as John McCain running the show and being backed by millions of dollars of treason money?

    Arizona Republicans Censure John McCain

    Daniel Doherty | Jan 13, 2014

According to Republican officials in Arizona, Sen. John “the Maverick” McCain has sided with “liberal Democrats” too many times over the years, and therefore, the Maricopa County Republican Party has voted to censure him:
The Maricopa County Republican Party has voted overwhelmingly to censure Senator John McCain (R-AZ). Members of the group feel the senator has failed to stand behind the Republican Party's principles and crossed the aisle and voted with Democrats too many times.
Many GOP members are using the term "RINO" to describe McCain, which stands for "Republican in Name Only."
The vote was 1,150 for the censure and 351 against.
Here’s the official resolution. Read it all (via the Arizona Daily Independent):
    As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare: Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;
Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and,
Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and
Whereas McCain has abandoned our core values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican leadership censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.

Do they not have a point? This is the same guy who called Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Justin Amash “wacko birds” last year (although, to his credit, he did apologize) and, as noted above, consistently votes with liberal Democrats in support of awful legislation. As to the charge he runs as a conservative but legislates as a liberal, remember in 2010 when he was running for re-election and pledged to build “the danged fence” -- in order to enhance border security in his home state? Well, in June 2013, when he had an opportunity to stand up for conservative values, he voted against that very measure.
In any case, I like John McCain and am grateful for his military service. But he’s no conservative. So if (when?) he runs for re-election in 2016, I wonder how he’ll defend his voting record and move past all the broken campaign promises.
It’s not going to be easy.

Arizona Republican Senator John McCain Officially Recognized As A RINO: Censured By Arizona Republican Party Leaders

By Joseph R. Carducci on January 13, 2014 Subscribe to Joseph R. Carducci's Feed

Perhaps over the years you have come to be a little bit jaded about Arizona “Republican” Senator John McCain. After all, he has made a career of crossing over the aisle and voting with Democrats on occasions too numerous to really count. He has also sponsored a number of bills that appealed more to Democrats rather than Republicans. If you look closely enough, it would almost seem that he does even more to help and advance the cause of the Democratic Party than the GOP.

Because of all this, Republican officials in Arizona have nicknames him “the Maverick,” saying that he has sided with liberal Democrats too many times over the years. It would now appear that he has irritated his own party one time too many, as the Maricopa County Republican Party has voted to censure him. This vote was actually overwhelming, with 1,150 members voting in favor of the censure against only 351 who voted against.

Many GOP members are now using the term RINO to describe McCain. In case you are unfamiliar, this just means “Republican in Name Only.” If you are interested, take a look at the entire official resolution (via the Arizona Daily Independent).

The resolution itself actually expressed their sadness at the necessity of taking this step. They have been hoping that McCain would return to the values expressed by the Republican Party, rather than continuing to side with the Democratic Party. His terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring, and voting for legislation that would be associated with liberals. This includes Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, a number of debt ceiling raises, assaults on the 2nd Amendment, and eve support for liberal nominees.

This record has been disastrous and harmful to both Arizona and and the US as a whole, according to the censure document.

McCain has also campaigned as a conservative and made promises that tried to disguise his real values. Some of these include promises to secure our national borders, finishing the border fence, and others. Yet, shortly after being re-elected he has always flip-flopped on these promises.

Not only this, but McCain has also continued to publicly reprimand conservatives in the Republican Party while remaining eerily quiet when it comes time to speak out against liberals. This recalls the fact that just last year, McCain has called Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Justin Amash “wacko birds.” Sure, he apologized, but it goes to the point of where your own values are, especially given his truly horrendous voting record in the Senate.

Because of all these reasons, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for, or endorse John McCain as the Arizona Senator. Will this censure make any difference? Is there any chance of actually getting a REAL conservative to take over his seat; someone who will actually work to reverse the liberal Obama agenda? Hard to say. But it is certainly clear that McCain has a long history of campaigning as a conservative (in 2010 he pledged to “build the danged fence”) and then legislating as a liberal. In June 2013, he actually voted against a bill that would have indeed built the “danged fence.” John McCain, our RINO, liberal GOP Senator.

What do YOU think? Is McCain a RINO? Does he deserve censure? Do you think this move will make any difference at all? Will it be possible to actually get a conservative Republican into his seat in the Senate at some point in the future?

Great Betrayal: McCain Blasted By Hometown GOP

January 14, 2014 by Ben Bullard

    UPI FILE

Conservative Republicans formally rebuking Senator John McCain is getting to be a thing. Last September, it was Arizona GOP Legislative District 26, which called out McCain for supporting President Barack Obama’s Federal appointees. In the new year, it’s the Maricopa County Republican Party — the local arm of the GOP that’s right in McCain’s backyard.

Maricopa County Republicans voted to formally censure McCain last week by an astonishing 1,150-to-351 margin, issuing a resolution that insinuates the former Presidential nominee had betrayed the party’s core values:
As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened.

So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:

    Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;

Senator.

Ouch. McCain has been hinting in recent months that he will seek a sixth term in the Senate. The Maricopa County GOP isn’t a mouthpiece for the State GOP, but it does reflect the prevailing political views of Republicans in Arizona’s most populous county, encompassing Phoenix — McCain’s hometown and the Nation’s fifth largest city — as well as massive suburban cities like Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale.

McCain will be 80 years old in 2016, when his Senate seat comes up for election.
