Deputy nabs $1 million drug runner

A Mesa County deputy sheriff who pulled over a vehicle for following too closely is being credited for busting an alleged illegal immigrant transporting approximately 28 pounds of suspected cocaine valued at $1 million.

Early Thursday, the deputy was staking out Interstate 70 near milepost 10 when he spotted a Jeep following a car too closely. The ensuing stop led to the discovery of “10 black taped packages ... of cocaineâ€
