Prelude to Iraq War

In December of 2001, three months after the 9/11 attacks, the Saudi national deemed responsible for the attacks escaped from Afghanistan into Pakistan on horseback with a small number of men. The top CIA commander on the ground, Gary Berntsen, had urgently requested 800 U.S. troops to block bin Laden's escape from the cave complex at Tora Bora, but the request was denied. CIA Deputy Counter Terrorism Director Hank Crumpton asked General Tommy Franks to send in reinforcements from the 1200 Marines who were stationed 80 miles away, in Kandahar, but that request was also denied. Osama bin Laden finally bribed the Northern Alliance warlords charged with blocking his escape, whom Berntsen had begged his superiors not to trust.


Both George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney later repeated General Franks' claim that the U.S was not sure bin Laden was trapped at Tora Bora. Both Bush and Cheney said in interviews: "We don't know if bin Laden was at Tora Bora." But Berntsen's contradiction is blunt. “I knew exactly where he wasâ€

This has been nothing more than political ansd psychological one-upsmanship between Baby Bush and daddy, who removed the Americans from Iraq but leaving Hussein in power. GWB, perhaps with grandiose plans of taking over the world, to either impress or trump papa, was encouraged by Cheney and Rumsfeld, perhaps to make sure their names got into the history books. Colin Powell quit after he had to lie to the UN.
It is Sociology 101 that a group that has no threat from the outside will begin to squabble among themselves, but when there's a threat the group comes together to defend. After 9/11, Russia and China were paying attention to their own knitting, so they weren't good candidates for imminent attack on this country at that point. Apparently, the threat from Afghanistan, though it habored Bin Laden, was not thought that great. IMO, this article shows that we could have eliminated him quickly, not a good idea to eliminate our "terror." Which meant that this country did not really have a viable threat to keep the American people scared enough to pass nifty things like unwarranted wiretapping and undermining the voice of the people. Hussein was keeping his head low after his loss of the Gulf war, just like Qaddafi in Libya. But Iraq was supposed to be a cake-walk.
There are too many unanswered questions (about the sanity of the aministration players for the last 8 years and the anti-American decisions made and the harm they have brought in undermining the Constitution and everything else we hold dear in this country.)

Don't forget treason runs in the family. The real question is why wasn't W's grandpappy tried as a traitor and hung?

A BBC Radio 4 investigation sheds new light on a major subject that has received little historical attention, the conspiracy on behalf of a group of influential powerbrokers, led by Prescott Bush, to overthrow FDR and implement a fascist dictatorship in the U.S. based around the ideology of Mussolini and Hitler.

Smedley Butler was approached by a wealthy and secretive group of industrialists and bankers, including Prescott Bush the current President's grandfather, who asked him to command a 500,000 strong rogue army of veterans that would help stage a coup to topple then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

According to the BBC, the plotters intended to impose a fascist takeover and "Adopt the policies of Hitler and Mussolini to beat the great depression."

The conspirators were operating under the umbrella of a front group called the American Liberty League, which included many families that are still household names today, including Heinz, Colgate, Birds Eye and General Motors.

Butler played along with the clique to determine who was involved but later blew the whistle and identified the ringleaders in testimony given to the House Committee on un-American Activities.

However, the Committee refused to even question any of the individuals named by Butler and his testimony was omitted from the record, leading to charges that they were involved in covering the matter up, and the majority of the media blackballed the story.

Thanks, ralphlopez. This report reveals so much about what has apprently going on in this family for generations: the reinforced imprint that only a select, elite group has the right and gives themselves the power to take everything from the masses only to enrich themselves and their buddies. And if someone protests, there are very easy ways to shut them down unless they are politically correct or in compliance with these power groups. If I am not mistaken, that enrichment of a few led to the French Revolution, and this administration is beginning to sound a little bit like the crap Robert Mugabe has pulled on his people.

And this is just one reason why I think that 911 was an inside job. The Bushes are villans and no less.
