ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man police believe runs cars stolen in Albuquerque to Mexico is back in jail where he may stay a while longer this time.

Officers said they caught Andres Pacheco Flores, 26, just after he broke into three cars Monday night.

"Three vehicles in 10 minutes," Albuquerque Police Department Lt. Harold Prudencio told KRQE News 13.

Pacheco and a friend broke into an SUV at the Chili's restaurant near Wyoming Boulevard and Paseo del Norte NE and stole what they could, according to the criminal complaint.

Officers in an unmarked car then followed the pair as they headed to nearby La Cueva High School where police said Pacheco had broken into two trucks.

After a short chase police arrest Pacheco and his partner.

Prudencio said Pacheco is not just a car burglar, he has made a career out of stealing cars in Albuquerque and then selling them in Mexico.

Police arrested him seven months ago for three vehicle thefts.

"He was actually deported to Mexico, but he crossed the border illegally and started stealing vehicles again," Prudencio said.

An immigration spokeswoman said her agency is looking into Pacheco's status. However the Metropolitan Detention Center reported that immigration put a hold on him, which means he cannot get out even if he posts bond on Monday night's charges.

A witness named Kyle, who didn't want his last name released, said his truck was one out of two parked at La Cueva that Flores had broken into. He said he watched as officers cornered in the parking lot minutes later and arrested him.

"He (Pacheco) was just sitting on the curb laughing," said Kyle. "I honestly think he thought he was just going to jail for the night and walk out tomorrow."

Pacheco was still smiling later when he posed for his latest mug shot, but he may not be laughing long.

He's listed as one of APD's worst five property crime offenders this month. Prudencio said he plans to use that to convince the district attorney and the courts to hit Pacheco hard.

"Hopefully, we keep this guy locked up, and then once he's released, you know, he gets deported," Prudencio said.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - New charges have been brought against an illegal immigrant who keeps getting arrested for stealing cars.

Andres Pacheco Flores, 26, appeared before judge Saturday, facing charges related stealing a back hoe and a wheel loader.

The heavy equipment was valued at an estimated $100,000, according to the criminal complaint.

On Tuesday, he was arrested for burglarizing three cars in a different incident.

TLC Plumbing and Utility reported the vehicles stolen on Jan. 31. They were discovered abandoned in southeast Albuquerque.

Police said that Flores was arrested for three auto thefts which happened seven months ago.

"He was actually deported to Mexico, but he crossed the border illegally and started stealing vehicles again," Albuquerque Police Department Lt. Harold Prudencio said.

Flores was recently named on of Albuquerque's top five property crime offenders. He's currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Silly me, I always thought grand theft auto was punishable by at least a year to a year and a half in prison. I believe carjacking can carry up to fifteen years. I guess normal sentencing didn't apply in this case because it's easier to deport the criminal. It would appear as if the possibility of a quick return to crime in the U.S. is never considered when deciding the disposition of illegal aliens.

Don't forget this government is complicit in the crimes committed by illegal alien leeches as the one in this article along with rape and molestation of women and children, manslaughter from crimes as drunk driving and identity theft (allowing them access to social security, welfare, health care including SCHIP, food stamps, sub prime mortgages and other benefits which soon will include stimulus checks, tax breaks and jobs by only requiring them to produce a stolen social security number). This government also aids and abets illegal aliens in inflicting more pain and suffering on the American people by leaving the border wide open allowing previous deportees to further victimize innocent Americans. Cheap labor for this government's corporate masters once again outweighs the safety, security and welfare of the American people which also is why this government is ramming this stimulus down our throats which will only benefit open borders advocates and illegal aliens but not suffering and struggling Americans.
