Recruitment drive seeks agents for U.S. Immigration

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency within the Department of Homeland Security, is launching a nationwide drive to recruit special agents.

The Miami recruitment seminar is scheduled to take place Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the ICE office, 8075 NW 53rd St., according to an ICE statement.

The prospective applicants should bring a résumé. To qualify, applicants must have a bachelor's degree or three years of law enforcement experience or a combination of the two. They must be under 37 years old and pass a background investigation, medical exam and drug test.

ICE is one of the agencies created in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks which led to the organization of Homeland Security.
