    If they charge these students with a misdemeanor instead of a felony, it will be open season on teachers there.

    Schools in LA county remind me more of Prisons than schools. SOme of them have lockdowns, where right after school starts the gates are locked. Some of LA county schools have hazard pay for substitute teachers who go to certain schools. My buddy used to take the hazard pay schools because he was a big guy 6'5", 250 pounds and knew martial arts. Yet, even STILL, he had confrontations w/students. He finally quit subbing when one of his students (a gang member of course) was involved in a murder on campus at Narbonne middle school.
