Att: TX Repubs! TX GOP Survey Border Security for Candidates
Border Security - Tell the candidates what YOU think should be done!
I am asking that you take just a few minutes to visit our website and
complete our official Presidential Issues Survey. This survey is a
tool for us to communicate directly with the Republican presidential
candidates and tell them what Texas Republicans expect from them on
the issues.
The results of these surveys (5 or 6 over the coming weeks) will be
provided directly to each presidential candidate. We want your voice
to be heard right now even as the candidates are in other states.
I hope that I can count on you to complete our Presidential Issues
Survey by visiting

I went to website and filled out until I came to question 5 in which I believe is stated in such away to allow the term Amnesty to fit McCain's version so I did not send. Check it out, however that was my opinion.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

I used the last one "Illegals are sent back to their home country, can return through legal channels once restitution is made" and typed in exactly what I meant in comments.

This is the one I used.
Illegals stay in the country, but must register with government and pay fine and/or restitution
This is McCains stance. This is McCain and Guliani amnesty<div>''Life's tough......it's even tougher if you're stupid.''

Restitution
How can they pay for restitution when they come here broke? McCain and Guiliani would probably exclude the poverty stricken ones from having to pay. I put plenty in the comments section even said tell Calderon he does not run our country or Congressmen even if it means we lose NAFTA or any other trade deals with Mexico, money for drug enforcement goes to our side of the border - the Mexican Army helps drug dealers, no injustice to the US Border Patrol. no targeting Border Patrol Agents by Johnny Sutton, do not let the Mexican Army cross our borders with impunity, and everything else I could think of.

They would never have to pay a dime and we all know that. You are right they would be exempt.

I filled out the survey as well, and this is what I said:
In response to Question #5, which does not quite give me the answer I wanted to put, I say that ANY law passed that lets the illegals stay in the country is considered amnesty to me.
If there is a widespread enforcement of our laws where employers are SUBSTANTIALLY fined for hiring illegals, employers must pay back all back taxes for all these illegal employees, and will go to jail after the second offence, you will see many illegals self deport.
Also, if the 14th Amendment will be clarified by the Supreme Court (which is coming, as at least 3 states look to pass anti-anchor baby laws soon), the pregnant foreign national travel agencies will cease to exist, illegals will stop having so many children, and many will not come due to not being able to acquire so many freebies off their "anchor" children (e.g. the "American" children of illegals can apply for welfare, food stamps, free school meals, free medical care, etc, etc. -- thus giving the illegals money only meant for "legal" American citizens).
If these two things alone are done, the illegals will begin to leave the country in droves. We must streamline the LEGAL immigration process to EMBRACE all the wonderful, hardworking people who are struggling to legally become TRUE Americans. THEY are the people we WANT!! NOT illegals who REFUSE to learn our language, culture, or laws.
We have too many good temporary work programs in place that many employers are too lazy to go to the trouble of using (claiming "too much paperwork"). Once they are forced to use legal American workers or temporary workers, the illegals will go away as well.
The borders must be shut down before we have a repeat of 9/11 in the next few years. The border is too porous at the moment, and more MUST be done to protest our wonderful border agents (who are being procecuted in droves by our own government for doing their job).
Mexico must STOP having a say in U.S. policies RIGHT NOW!!! They have NO RIGHT to demand ANYTHING as a foreign company!!!
I have lost a lot of faith in the United States government for selling us out to large corporations and to foreign interests and people. America will be dead in less than 50 years if something is not done NOW to fix our major problems!!!
Illegal immigration is costing American hospitals billions of...
