On April 15, hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets to protest runaway government spending, massive debt, and high taxes. The protesters -- concerned Americans from all walks of life -- represented Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.

During comments on that day, Mr. President you chose to completely ignore the protesters and ignore the message that was being sent to you. On April 29, however, you did respond. Your response was to mock the hard-working Americans who took to the streets to protest an unresponsive Washington.

Barack Obama: "Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security."

Hey, President Obama! Let me tell you how we're going to help people with their health insurance costs and stabilize social security. It's two words: Fair Tax which repeals all income-based taxes on corporations and individuals and replaces it with a national retail sales tax on new products and services purchased for non-business purposes.

The FairTax is:

08.09% national retail sales tax to fund social security and medicare

14.91% national retail sales tax for general revenue fund

23% total FairTax collected at the final point of sale on all new products and services purchased for non-business purposes.

For the average household income of $50,000 a year for a family of 4, the FairTax, increases their net expendable income by $16,440 a year in tax savings and FairTax Rebate, a 40% increase in their take home pay. These families if they do not already have insurance and want insurance, can use a portion of their $16,440 of new expendable income to purchase a private insurance plan from any number of health insurance providers eager to service them.

Mr. President, if you or any other politician wanted to help the people of the United States, you would have already passed the FairTax, secured our borders, deported illegal aliens and protected our trade.

Excellent post! I think we do need an apology from Obama, considering that his "change" is nothing more than the same crap we have been seeing for 9 years. I am so tired of these 2 party candidates! They couldn't give a CRAP about the people.

I hate to bring up the cartoon South Park again, but an episode was just on where the kids had to vote on a new school mascot. Their choices were "A Giant Douche" or a "Turd Sandwich." That pretty much sums up the choices we have.
