I called the number for Absolut Fools PR flack, suzanne bessette, and got a recording saying she was out of the country until Monday.

I left a message (there was still room on the machine) asking if they intended to MOD EDIT, and stated they better be looking for a good bankruptcy attorney because they were going to need it.

The website given by Pernod Ricard does not seem to have a way to send an email to Absolut.

I called the number given. You cannot leave a comment.

They have a PR, BS blurb that basically says they are an international company, the ad was to reflect Mexicans point of view, and in no way was suppose to advocate anything. Mexcians may view the ad differenty, they said, but oh well, that is not Absolut's fault. Of course they are sorry for the insult, if any. The ad campaign has run its course they claim and no more ads will be appearing.

While they say they are not supporting the notion that this land belongs to Mexico, they said Mexicans look to it as a time when it was better for them.

It looks people will have to contact Absolut the old fashioned way.. snail mail. At least Pernod Ricard can still be contacted so they know the problems what they may be buying.

Time for me to google the retailers I use and send them a copy of the ad and kindly suggest that it might be in their best interest to pull all Absolut products.

I just got an email through to Suzanne Bessette, the PR manager letting her know that their PR response was almost as bad as the ad.

Gee, they think because they are an interntional company, they can pander to local hate groups, with wacko views of history, and that is justifiable?

I wonder if they will now place that ad in Germany, showing 1/3 of France belonging to Germany under the banner of Deutchland Uber Alles and claim that is the Germany point of view, so their ad is just fine and dandy?
