I wrote to BevMo, our local big box outlet for alcohol, and sent them 1. the ad, 2. the video of the Mexican Consulate employee and 3. the article by Daryl D. the ex teacher talking about the little kids in his class indoctrinated by MEChA into believing in Aztlan and genocide for all non brown people. I told them if they carried any Absolut products, we would not shop there again.
Then I did the same thing for some high end restaurants we go to several times a year. I asked if they stocked Absolut and indicated if they did, they were off our restaurant list.
Everyone should be boycotting Mexico too due to that Consulate video. We won't go there on vacation this year and I won't buy Mexican products. period.
Quien magazine in which this ad appeared in Mexico City is a magazine that is part of the Expansion Editorial company of Mexico owned by TIME-WARNER as of 2005. Traitors. Perhaps TIME-WARNER should also be getting an earful from the American public for running an ad like that. Did they really think no one on this side of the border would see it or react?

good work....distributors of the product and retailers should be made aware of this stupid ad and Americans displeasure .....

This is a national trade group for the beverage distribution industry. Perhaps they should get a copy of this Absolut ad and calls/letters from the American public regarding the offensive ad.
This ad should be A WAKE-UP CALL for everyone to stop drinking alcohol altogether. Between Miller, the Absolut Spirits Company, and the V&S Group, this should tell you with whom the alcoholic beverages manufacturers and distributors align. (They side with whatever demographic groups buy the most of their products.)
Now if I can just make it to my anger management class without exploding . . .
Greg Jarrett and Megyn Kelley showed this on Fox & Friends this morning!
Great! Did they give the HQ phone numbers? I doubt it. Of course, that is very early in the morning. I wonder if Cavuto will have it on his business news today. He's on at 4:00 p.m. EDT and 1:00 EDT.Quote:

Just sent Michelle's ad to cavuto. He covered Joey Vento's situation with his "Order in English" all the way to the end. I hope he covers this big time, because he is the chief over the Fox News Business Channel, which just started this year.

Absolut arrogance and the advertising agency behind the reconquista ad

You know what has been heartening the past two days as reaction to the Absolut Reconquista ad continues to pour in? The fact that so many of you still take our sovereignty seriously and are willing to give voice to your concerns without apologizing for it. I’m including a sample of e-mails below.
But first: The advertising firm that created the Absolut Reconquista ad is Teran/TBWA. Teran is based in Mexico City. [size=150]The company’s website boasts a pretentious statement of philosophy advocating “disruptionâ€

I hope Cavuto does this story today. I sent it to him, Dobbs, Oreilly, Beck yesterday afternoon. I'm a LOT of others clued them in as well.
Now the unemployed day laborers can sit around outside 7-11, drink absolut, and dream about taking back their so called land (if they aren't deported first)!
I wonder how The Absolut Spirits Company, Inc. is holding up in the stock market--surely there is a great deal of selling of it's stocks.

I think we should all email the Swedish headquarters. Those that can afford it should also call them.
For what it's worth, I posted this on the absolut blog:
Is part of your "vision" to produce an ad that not only insults Americans, but validates the notion of Mexicans that part of the U.S. somehow belongs to them? I think everyone needs to revisit their history books. Your pandering to the Mexican people is disgraceful. Your lack of respect for the American people is a slap in the face. I can only hope that you see a tremendous drop in sales of this product due to a boycott by Americans. I will be spreading the word and so will many Americans I know.
It looks like a French multinational company, Pernod Richard, is in the process of buying Absolut. Here is more info on them:

Notice since they are based in Europe their stock is listed in Euros. They have operations around the world including as they say "The Americas".
Here is more details on their buyout of Absolut

To me this ad is just like the Zimmerman letter Germany sent to Mexico during WWI asking Mexico to join with Germany and attack the USA, for which in return Mexico would receive the Southwest back. This letter was one of the big reasons the US entered the war against Germany.
Drudge links to LA Times coverage on this:
Mexico reconquers California? Absolut drinks to that!
The latest advertising campaign in Mexico from Swedish vodka maker Absolut promises to push all the right buttons south of the U.S. border, but it could ruffle a few feathers in El Norte.
The billboard and press campaign, created by advertising agency Teran\TBWA and now running in Mexico, is a colorful map depicting what the Americas might look like in an "Absolut" -- i.e., perfect -- world.
The U.S.-Mexico border lies where it was before the Mexican-American war of 1848 when California, as we now know it, was Mexican territory and known as Alta California.
Following the war, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo saw the Mexican territories of Alta California and Santa Fé de Nuevo México ceded to the United States to become modern-day California, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona. (Texas actually split from Mexico several years earlier to form a breakaway republic, and was voluntarily annexed by the United States in 1846.)
The campaign taps into the national pride of Mexicans, according to Favio Ucedo, creative director of leading Latino advertising agency Grupo Gallegos in the U.S.
Ucedo, who is from Argentina, said: “Mexicans talk about how the Americans stole their land, so this is their way of reclaiming it. It’s very relevant and the Mexicans will love the idea.â€

No loss my friend because I never drink Vodka, but I noted with pleasure the other brands your company produces, and will start a campaign to have them banned here. I live in California, I am a multilingual American citizen, including Spanish. I am a student of history and our family lost everything in the second world war. I am familiar with wars of conquest and wars of reconquest, if Mexico wants to take over my country, please haul them up here on the back of Absolut Vodka delivery trucks. But prepare to haul MOD EDIT back to their country.
I called the number for Absolut Fools PR flack, suzanne bessette, and got a recording saying she was out of the country until Monday.
I left a message (there was still room on the machine) asking if they intended to MOD EDIT, and stated they better be looking for a good bankruptcy attorney because they were going to need it.

Sirs,
MOD EDIT
Why not place an ad all over France showing that 1/3 of your o****ry belongs to Germany, with a banner headline "Deutchland Uber Alles" in an Absolut perfect world?
I hope you have a good attorney who specializes in bankruptcy.
Nothing can save you.
Take your Absolut bottle and gently shove it up your ass.
Yours sincerely,

Messieurs,

Gogo, Hi. Thanks for the welcoming words.
I just received the following email:
I recommended that he reconsider the acquisition at this time, as they will probably be able to negotiate a much better price in a month or two lolQuote:
Thank you for contacting us.
We understand your concerns.
Pernod Ricard does not own Absolut (our company announced a proposed acquisition of Absolut earlier this week, but it is subject to regulatory approvals and is not expected to close until July).
We were not involved in the creation of this ad.
If you would like to contact the Absolut Spirits Co. in New York directly about this issue, please call their consumer inquiry line at: 212-641-6853 or contact them at www.absolut.com.
Corporate Communications
Pernod Ricard USA
The website given by Pernod Ricard does not seem to have a way to send an email to Absolut.
I called the number given. You cannot leave a comment.
They have a PR, BS blurb that basically says they are an international company, the ad was to reflect Mexicans point of view, and in no way was suppose to advocate anything. Mexcians may view the ad differenty, they said, but oh well, that is not Absolut's fault. Of course they are sorry for the insult, if any. The ad campaign has run its course they claim and no more ads will be appearing.
While they say they are not supporting the notion that this land belongs to Mexico, they said Mexicans look to it as a time when it was better for them.
It looks people will have to contact Absolut the old fashioned way.. snail mail. At least Pernod Ricard can still be contacted so they know the problems what they may be buying.
Time for me to google the retailers I use and send them a copy of the ad and kindly suggest that it might be in their best interest to pull all Absolut products.
Bettybb,
I like you husbands style. :D
I just got an email through to Suzanne Bessette, the PR manager letting her know that their PR response was almost as bad as the ad.
Gee, they think because they are an interntional company, they can pander to local hate groups, with wacko views of history, and that is justifiable?
I wonder if they will now place that ad in Germany, showing 1/3 of France belonging to Germany under the banner of Deutchland Uber Alles and claim that is the Germany point of view, so their ad is just fine and dandy?

boycott absolut!
I sent the following email,
Quote:
Dear ms Bessette,
What would your parent company think of running an ad in Germany showing a map that contained Poland as part of Germany? Do you think the Polish people would REALLY find humor in it? I take the sovereignty of my country very very seriously. I have over 300 million friends and neighbors who feel the same way. We are contacting Pernod Ricard USA, strongly suggesting they rethink the acquisition. Your sorry attempt at an apology was nearly as insulting as the ad itself.
Your lame excuse that the ad has run its course is nothing short of deplorable. I also couldn't care less WHO the ad was targeting. If you think encouraging a war is good for business, you are sadly mistaken. Do you normally encourage theft and declarations of war to sell your product? I think you have greatly underestimated the damage this ad has caused Absolut. Your flippant excuse for an apology is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! At this point, I am no longer just wanting a public apology for this ad, I will not settle for anything less than your termination.
sincerely,
ROFL she certainly is French, she has gone underground. I just received the following email:
Out of the country my Aunt Sallys donkey. She is in hiding.Quote:
Please note that I will be out of country on business until Monday, April 14, with limited access to email. I will respond to your email upon my return.
Thank you and have a nice day.
ROFL!! NOW I've heard it all! How would they know it was better for them then? Are any of the old timers still alive?Quote:

In addition, Mexico SOLD us the land. They got PAID for it. Not our problem they couldn't hold on to it!

Miguelina you just make me laugh. ROFLMBO
SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! 8O Read some of the history of this country before the US Government had bought it from Mexico and find out that there were very few Mexican Peoples here in the Southwest or California for the simple fact it was an untamed wilderness at that time.
Now that all these areas have been built up over the years and there are more and better paying jobs there they want to ,again, claim those areas as their land.....Our own government officials are out to give it back to them as well along as a whole host of other services!
I may be wrong but that is my thoughts on the whole subject of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION/INVASION.
Let these people change their own Mexican Government , NOT MINE!
I agree and A BIG WELCOME TO ALIPAC UNITEASONE. Glad to have you in the fight for our country. Spread the word about Alipac.us and Numbersusa.com.Quote:

I wrote them a letter (below), under the subject heading of "Genocide" - that should get their attention - but I forgot to include the video of the Mexican Consulate employee claiming San Dieog for Mexico. Maybe someone else could send it?
Also, I did not send them the actual ad. presuming they know about this issue, but I could be wrong.

Excellent Bettybb. I would send that same letter to each product owned by Absolut and send it to Ricardo who is looking at acquisition of the company.
Cayla99,,
Thanks. From your posts I see you are pretty fesity yourself! ^5 :D
Gogo,
Thanks. I will try and spread it far and wide.
I also intend to send a version of it to my State reps (CA) demanding that there should be a motion censoring Absolut, and censoring the Mexican government for not putting a stop to it. I might even send it to Zoe Lofgen, Boxer and Feinstein just for fun. I have already sent them the ad, and the Mexican Consulate video and requested a personal reply -but a follow up might be good.
And maybe a blast to the Mexican Consulate is in order. I mean why should they be spared?
Anymore who wants to copy the letter in whole or in part is free to do so.
I hope the regular media is picking up on this and trying to bury it out of sight.
This one even got hubby's blood boiling, and he has been pretty laid back about the whole issue.
