Georgia SB 350
This came to me by e-mail. I have looked for news paper reports on this but have not found any. Will post as soon as I find something.
Dear Dustin Inman Society supporters: Governor Perdue has signed SB 350 ( jail time for driving w/o ever having obtained a Georgia drivers license - the bill the illegal alien lobby feared most ) into law, and vetoed HB 978 ( impound vehicle of driver who had never obtained a drivers license).
This is pretty much what we expected, and proves that we have made a difference. This represents a great deal of hard work that began in 2007. I cannot thank you all enough for your part, we never would have seen SB 350 signed into law without the efforts from all of you.
THANK YOU!
Thanks to the legislators who showed their courage in authoring and supporting these bills.
This is a huge win for Americans in Georgia, it will be copied around the nation in other states and it will help to decrease the number of people killed by illegal aliens on Georgia's roads.
Enforcement works!
*With the willing help and assistance of the open borders lobby, illegal aliens will now look for ways around the drivers license problem, but many will look for a more accommodating state in which to illegally look for a better life. Legal action from MALDEF is very possible, as they depend on as many illegals as possible to make their living.
I am still looking for status of SB 421 (felony for second conviction false ID). If not signed, or vetoed, it will become law too.
More later.

Below is from the Governor's press release:
House Bill 978
House Bill 978 requires that law enforcement officers impound the vehicle of any person caught driving without a valid driver's license. While it does provide three exceptions - (1) persons driving with an expired license; (2) first-time offenders that are under 17 years of age; and (3) persons otherwise exempt from carrying a Georgia drivers' license - it mandates impoundment in all other circumstances. To help address what I believe to be the concerns of this legislation's author, I have already signed Senate Bill 350, which enhances the penalties for driving without a valid drivers' license. However, because I believe that officers should have discretion to determine when a vehicle should be impounded, and because I am concerned about how this legislation will impact new residents to Georgia, I cannot sign House Bill 978. I therefore VETO House Bill 978.
Sincerely,
D.A. King

Here's a couple of links to articles about this from my favorite local racist organization GALEO. This organization is a typical bunch of self-important bullies.

I'm really glad one of these passed, although it would have been better if they both had, if Perdue had not vetoed one.
