A Houma woman is alleged to have sold more than 400 state identification cards in St. Mary Parish.

Holly G. Calva, 40, was arrested Friday by Louisiana State Police with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigative Division’s Houma office.

She was charged with unlawful production of fraudulent documentation for identification purposes and filing false public records.

Master State Trooper Brian Zeringue said it was not immediately known whether Calva worked for the Office of Motor Vehicles.

In December 2009, state police began an investigation into a large number of illegal immigrants obtaining Louisiana identification cards.

The investigation revealed that Calva was providing fraudulent documents to individuals who were in the United States illegally and would assist them in obtaining state identification from the Office of Motor Vehicles, Zeringue said.

State Police detectives were able to identify 402 cards that Calva was selling for $400 each.

Calva was arrested at her residence in Houma and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex as a fugitive from St. Mary Parish.

More charges are possible as a federal investigation into the matter is ongoing.
