    Delay in aid for Mexico targeted

    GOP to investigate; $1.4 billion to be used to help fight drug thugs.

    WASHINGTON — Republicans are using their new clout in Congress to investigate the delay in sending U.S. military hardware and training programs to Mexico that were called for by the 3-year-old, $1.4 billion Mérida Initiative.

    The scrutiny comes as drug-related violence in Mexico continues to escalate and U.S. aid to Mexico appears tied up in bureaucratic red tape.

    Despite the amount of U.S. aid given to Mexico, drug-related violence in that country has continued to escalate, with more than 34,600 killed since Calderón took office four years ago, according to the Mexican government.
    The more aid given, the worst things seems to become is correct.

    Why is the GOP trying to give away more money?

    I thought they were trying to cut spending.

    Well the mexicans are not making much progress because the cartels are paying off more officials there then we are. Let Mexico sink. Put our troops on the border with full authorization to take whatever action is needed to stop the illegals and the drugs from crossing over to the USA.
