Hispanic lawmakers want President Barack Obama to intervene if Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer doesn’t veto a sweeping illegal immigration bill that would require police to stop anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant.

“The governor of Arizona should veto the bill, and if she doesn’t the president of the United States, Barack Obama, should assert the federal government’s preeminent role in regulating and enforcing our nation’s immigration law,â€

I think law enforcement should do what is necessary to help our nation. If the federal government won't stop the flow of illegal's into this nation, then the local governments should do so. I hail from Hazleton Pa, and at least our Mayor is trying so.

its kinda funny how they are determined that only the federal government enforce the law....not denying they are illegal

Arizona - If the Governor signs the bill, the law takes effect immediately if it was emergency or Proposition 108 legislation; otherwise the law takes effect 90 days after the Legislature adjourns sine die. Proposition 108 requires legislation that provides a net increase in state revenues to receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house of the Legislature. Such bills become effective immediately upon the governor’s signature
