A traffic stop led Phoenix police to a drophouse where 27 suspected illegal immigrants were found late Saturday morning.

Phoenix police stopped a vehicle near 63rd Avenue and Buckeye Road for a minor traffic offense about 11 a.m., said Sgt. Steve Martos, a police spokesman.

"During the stop, officers questioned the occupants who advised they had just arrived from Mexico and others were at a nearby home," Martos said in a news release.

Police responded to the home and discovered 27 suspected illegal immigrants, including four women and one juvenile. All were unharmed.

Detectives were still processing the scene. Martos said no other information was immediately available.
