The Act clearly states in Section 40 (1a) that any foreign national or a permanent resident is not permitted to either directly or indirectly withhold any information or material facts relating to pertinent matter that could create a flaw in the administration of the Act.

This act is aimed specifically towards applicants who dream big of entering Canada, which is considered to be a land of opportunities, in an illegal manner. A fantasy such as this could drive a person to resort to any illegal methods to acquire a permanent immigration status in Canada through any illegal means. Yet there are a large number of cases where the migrant population in Canada has entered the country by submitting fake documents which normally land a person into an irredeemable serious situation. These consequences could lead to deportation or even imprisonment.

The United States has introduced safety measures in maintaining a check on the credentials of an applicant. There have been several cases where applicants furnish fake documents to attain immigration status or getting a working visa in the US. However, the Department of Homeland Security has been instructed to carry out a check on each applicant by matching the details of the applicant with their data base. All companies in the United States have been instructed to provide complete details of the applicant that they propose to employ for a specific period.

A thorough background check is conducted through customized special software. This check hardly takes a few minutes yet it is a mandatory check. Employers not conforming to these checks are imposed with heavy penalties and fines.

A large number of countries all over the world are introducing stringent legislation in their immigration laws to combat illegal migrants moving into other countries by submitting forged documents.
