Six out of 450,000 in five cities around the nation. Those are the numbers on how many illegal immigrants have chosen to take advantage of "Operation Scheduled Departure," and leave the United States voluntarily.

"Illegal aliens don't take George Bush seriously on immigration enforcement, like most Americans. The Bush Administration has no enforcement credibility with either the American public, or illegal aliens," said Americans for Legal Immigration President William Gheen.

Like many critics on both sides of the immigration debate, Gheen sees the program as a big waste of taxpayer money-and a half hearted effort.

"Why are they aiming this program at less than half a million illegal aliens. I hate to tell Bush and the boneheads, but we have over 12-million illegal aliens here" Gheen said. "They can just leave on their own. They don't need a special program, they can walk out of here tonight."

The program, running in Phoenix, Chicago, San Diego, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Santa Ana, California continues through August 22nd. After that, federal officials will review the results.
