CBP Seizes Just Under $90,000 in Undeclared Currency from Vehicle Engine

El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers conducting southbound operations in cooperation with the Border Enforcement Security Task Force at the El Paso port of entry Wednesday morning stopped a 33-year-old man from leaving the country with $89,985.

The seizure was made at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday while CBP officers, Border Patrol agents, and U.S.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents were conducting southbound operations at the Ysleta Bridge. CBP officers selected a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo for an intensive exam. The driver of the vehicle said he had nothing to declare during routine questioning by the CBP officer.
