U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector May 24 – May 30

Blaine, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

05/25/2012- Sumas Border Patrol agents responded to a request for assistance from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office regarding a subject that they had detained. The agents determined that the individual was a citizen of Mexico who was previously removed from the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

05/26/2012- Blaine Border Patrol agents encountered an individual in close proximity to the United States/Canada border in Blaine, Washington. The agents determined that the individual was a citizen of Honduras who admitted to being illegally present in the United States. The individual had a prior criminal history for possession of a controlled substance. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

05/28/2012- Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed a subject cross the United States/Canada border near the Smuggler’s Inn located in Blaine, Washington. Agents responded to the area, conducted a search and discovered a subject who matched the description of the individual who had crossed the border. The subject was a citizen of India who admitted to being illegally present in the United States. The individual was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

05/28/2012- Sumas Border Patrol agents responded to a request for assistance from the Everson Police Department regarding two subjects that they had detained. Both subjects admitted to being citizens of Mexico illegally present in the United States. Both individuals were placed under arrest and processed for removal.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
