Border Patrol agent hit by vehicle, driver shot, in remote area near Santa Teresa, N.M.

A Border Patrol agent was hit by a vehicle, and the driver of the vehicle was shot Thursday night in a remote area of New Mexico, according to our news partners at KTSM.
Channel 9-KTSM (Cable Channel 10) reports that the Border Patrol agent was not seriously injured. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Thusday in a remote area about 20 miles west of the border crossing at Santa Teresa, New Mexico, KTSM reported.

When a vehicle attempted to cross the border in the area, the agent tried to stop it but was hit by the vehicle. Agents then shot at the vehicle, hitting the driver.
