HUCKABEE TOURS BORDER

LAREDO, Texas -- Huckabee toured the Mexican border Saturday and stressed his commitment to preventing illegal immigration, while choosing against criticizing McCain.

Huckabee -- joined by Rep. Duncan Hunter, Jim Gilchrist, founder and president of the Minutemen Project and Chuck Norris – first was briefed at the Laredo office of Customs and Border Protection. He viewed the command center, where operators scan mounted video cameras, looking for Mexicans seeking to cross the border. He also saw a wide array of weapons and equipment the patrolmen use, including hovercraft.

He then toured a potential border crossing, walking through the woods to the edge of the Rio Grande. Speaking after the tour, Huckabee demurred when asked if McCain was soft on immigration.

“I’m not going to characterize his position because I think that’s not really a healthy thing for me to get into,â€

I don't see any of the others touring the borders, does anyone else?

Huckabee should choose Jeff Sessions to be his VP.

There's NO TELLING who McLame will choose as his VP.

He will probably shock the American people even further by picking some tramp from somewhere and expect us to "accept it".

I heard Obama was on the border, think it was yesterday.

It sounds like a really crummy movie.

After going to the border will he still say that a fence isn't needed?

What a waste of time and money Obama is. And the same for McCain.

Losers! Hopefully all four of them will lose and a good candidate will come forward to represent the American people.

Huckabee seems to be snuggling up to Duncan Hunter. They could be a very good thing! Hunter's voting record history and actions shows exactly where he stands on the illegal immigration and border security issues. Next to Tancredo, there is no one tougher on the issue.

I like Jeff Sessions, however, I think Hunter would be a better choice.

Yep, but it doesn't sound like he toured the border or discussed border security with the BP.
