U.S. chamber decries Arizona law on illegal workers
    ARIZONA DAILY STAR
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today joined Arizona business leaders in challenging the constitutionality of a new state law that regulates the employment of illegal workers.
"State and local attempts to regulate the employment of undocumented workers are unconstitutional and preempted by federal law," Robin Conrad, executive vice president of the National Chamber Litigation Center which represents the U.S. Chamber in Arizona Contractors said in a press release. "Arizona's statute deserves to be overturned, because it violates employers' due process rights."
He said the Arizona law imposes different liability and conflicting sanctions, including the revocation of business licenses, without an opportunity for a hearing, on employers who are deemed to have hired undocumented workers. The state also requires mandatory compliance with the Basic Pilot employment verification system, which is voluntary under federal law.
The National Chamber Litigation Center is the public policy law firm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and advocates for business interests in the courts and before regulatory agencies.

"preempted by federal law" This guy seem to forget that AZ employers need to be following Federal law on hiring. Is is only the Feds that aren't prosecuting for the violation and now the state can. What an idiot.

We are up against great odds.

We are now, at least, finding out just who and how many our enemies are.

If we don't take on business - they are going to win.

Secretary Gutierrez is a core member of President Bush’s economic team and is his U.S. Chamber of Commerce flunkie. If it's coming from Gutierrez, it's coming from Bush!
