SAN DIEGO -- Sheriff's deputies caught three illegal immigrants who tried to enter the U.S. by boat over the weekend, according to a published report.
A resident called authorities on Saturday morning after seeing a group of people get off a boat in Imperial Beach, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Deputies found a boat abandoned near the south end of Seacoast Drive. The arrested the immigrants nearby.
Authorities have found several abandoned boats believe to have been used by immigrant smuggles between Imperial Beach and La Jolla over the past six months.
