Federal agents discovered several dozen undocumented migrants from various Latin American countries stashed in a house in the Rio Grande Valley.
The bust by the Border Patrol took place Thursday after border agents checked out a house near San Juan, acting on a tip by its sister agency, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Agents arrested 58 immigrants — 43 men and 15 women. Thirty-three were Mexican nationals, with 19 Brazilians, three Hondurans, two Salvadorans and one Peruvian, according to the Border Patrol. None appeared injured or in ill health.
All were processed and detained at the agency's station in Weslaco pending deportation hearings.
