The Senate added four amendments to increase immigration enforcement to its version of the Homeland Security Appropriations bill. The House has now named its representatives to the conference committee that will resolve the differences between the bills.

We need you to take a moment and ask the House to keep these amendments. Specifically, the four additions to the DHS Appropriations bill, H.R. 2892 are:

• An amendment by Senator Charles Grassley would allow businesses that use E-Verify to check current employees. Presently, E-Verify is used only on new hires.

• An amendment by Senator Jeff Sessions would permanently reauthorize E-Verify and mandate its use by all federal contractors.

• An amendment by Senator David Vitter would require the Social Security Administration to continue its "no-match" letter program when Social Security numbers do not match. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has terminated the program.

• An amendment by Senator Jim DeMint would force DHS to complete the 700 miles of border fencing that have already been approved.
These amendments were an important victory for those who want to bring immigration under control, and we must resist efforts to delete them.
