    Phoenix police officers came out on Tuesday against proposed changes to Operations Order 1.4, saying the new immigration-enforcement policy would not give them sufficient discretion to enforce the law.

    The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association sought a policy that allows officers to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement whenever they have “reasonable suspicionâ€

    I'm really getting tired of the argument this a federal issue thus local police should just stand by and allow illegal invaders to have free reign.

    Again, bank robbery is a federal crime but I doubt anyone would demand that police officers should be required to take FBI training before they were allowed to apprehend those suspects.

    How much training does it require to ask for identification and make a phone call to ICE if the subject is suspected of being in this country illegally.

    It's not that hard, but some want it to be.
