Thank George W. Bush for Gilberto Cruz Hernandez.
Mr. Hernandez also should thank Mr. Bush for allowing America to be the dumping ground of Mexico's wretched refuse.

Hernandez is a twice-deported illegal alien whose $44,000 annual income helped him get a brand-new home with a $122,970 FHA-backed loan, according to the News & Record in Greensboro, N.C.

This illegal is proof positive that the third time's the charm when chasing the American dream while being chased by the Border Patrol.

But also from the News & Record, Hernandez is accused of being a night burglar -- and a masked serial rapist who attacked eight women. And that he was charged four times for speeding, seven times for driving without a license or with a false one, three times for not having proper vehicle registration, and once each for running a red light, driving a vehicle not properly registered, displaying an improper license and having no insurance.

The taxpayers might also have to pay for a public defender and a $30-an-hour interpreter for Hernandez, who claims he cannot afford a lawyer or understand English.

The cost of living there must be astronomical if a North Carolinian making $44,000 annually with a new home surely worth at least $123,000 is considered indigent. It's also puzzling why taxpayers should pay for an interpreter since a spokesperson for his employer said Hernandez, a printing press operator, is fluent in English.

Immigration authorities said they would deport him, again, after the criminal justice system is through with him, according to published reports.

A spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that prosecuting people for illegally sneaking into this republic, and throwing them in prison if convicted, is up to the U.S. attorney in the district where the breaking and entering took place -- breaking the law to enter the United States.

However, given Hernandez's wanderlust -- and Bush continually digging in his heels instead of enforcing immigration law -- don't look for a "For Sale" sign on the front lawn of the Hernandez hacienda or a "Help Wanted" ad by his employer for a new press operator.

Even if Hernandez beats the rap, er, um, raps, he still would qualify as a poster child for Bush's abject failure to protect America from alien invasion.

How many more chances will Bush give Hernandez -- and every other persistent "Hernandez" -- to breach national security? Is there any multiple of a million illegals that would trouble this compassionate conservative calamity?

How many more good jobs, such as printing press operator, will be taken from Americans and given to illegals? Can anyone seriously believe that a $44,000 job in the South went to an illegal because it went wanting when offered to unemployed or underemployed citizens?

How many more new homes will illegals be allowed to buy with taxpayer-subsidized mortgages made by unscrupulous lenders?

How many more murderers, rapists and thieves will be allowed to infiltrate this country -- and how many more innocent Americans must they prey on -- before Bush no longer accepts the inevitable collateral damage as the cost of doing business to supply Big Business with cheap, compliant labor?

How much more misery must this nation endure for you, Mr. President?

How much more, sir?
