J.D. Hayworth (Arizona)An immigration enforcement PAC has officially endorsed Republican J.D. Hayworth in his primary challenge to Arizona Senator John McCain.

Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee (ALIPAC) claims John McCain has failed to listen to over 80 percent of his constituents and the American public by co-sponsoring legislation with the late Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy that would have given amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

William Gheen (ALIPAC)William Gheen, president of ALIPAC, believes a successful challenge by Hayworth would really help with what he sees as a revolution this fall. "If McCain wins this primary, it will be like throwing water on the uprising that's going on in this country," he predicts. "The Tea Party movement, the immigration enforcement movement -- all of that energy is going to really take a hit if John McCain wins."

The ALIPAC president notes that veteran Arizona lawmaker misled the public in 2008 when he was running for president.

"He found out he couldn't win the GOP primary because of what he had done standing with Ted Kennedy in support of amnesty," Gheen explains. "So he told them he had gotten the message and he had changed his ways, and he won the primary. Then he went right back to his previous pro-amnesty stance and went on all the Spanish language channels and promised them amnesty once again."

Gheen contends that if Hayworth defeats McCain, it will increase the energy level of the conservative base going into November.
