“I’m a former top federal law enforcement official and understand you have to be very careful when you’re conducting an investigation to make sure there’s no pretrial publicity that may affect the case and give the perpetrator a chance to use comments made, especially by the chief investigator, which happens to be the sheriff.

What will Dupnik do if all his "opinions" are used to get Laughner off?

He certainly does set an example, and I hope all Sheriffs learn from his example. We have many wonderful Sheriffs in the United States. And if they would stand up against illegal immigration and enforce US immigration law as they are already fully empowered to do under US immigration law, Section 1324, then we wouldn't have this huge problem. Needless to say if Police Chiefs would do likewise, we wouldn't have this problem at all.

It's time to demand that our 800,000 state and local law enforcement officers enforce US immigration law to the letter and help US solve this problem using their existing personnel and resources. It's time for the electorate to remove from office any Sheriff and Police Chief who refuses to do so and do likewise with every Mayor and member of the City Council who doesn't support the rule of law regarding immigration issues.

When law enforcement wants to arrest and incarcerate pot smokers while letting the illegal aliens running the drug trade while stealing jobs, wages, benefits, educations, public services, health care and identities from the American people roam free, there's only one word for those law enforcement agents, and that's Traitors. When you have a clear choice between protecting the American people and instead choose to protect illegal aliens, that's high treason as high as it goes.

I agree with Arpaio and I am so glad he spoke up to defend the Americans who oppose Amnesty for illegals. I was appauled when I heard Dupik's biased political retoric on the day of the shootings as soon as I heard it, before I even knew what the Congresswoman stood for. Dupnik milked his soap box for his 15 min of fame to spread his vitreol.
We all need to do what we did to defeat the DREAM act...call Senators and Congressmen to tell them one kook should not have the power to change direction of the House's legislation which supported TEA Party values and was finally moving in the right direction. We MUST show that our focus remains the same and we voted them in to promote our values agenda.
The left is using this situation to turn the agenda back to theirs. We waited too long and voted peacefully to gain change. We didn't use violence. Our lawmakers need to know the majority of Americans still support the direction they were going and they must NOT stop.
I wrote to AZ Governor supporting her also, so she knows things have not changed and I still support her stance against amnesty.
Please do the same. We can't lose what we worked so hard to gain!

The obvious villain in the Gabrielle Giffords tragedy is the man who caused it, the very disturbed Jared Lee Loughner. Sadly, though, there have been villains in the response to it, too—many villains. And while it’s hard to make a pick for this Black Hat Award, one man who has certainly distinguished himself is Pima County, Arizona, Sheriff Clarence Dupnik.

As you may know, Dupnik has been busy warning of how speech has consequences while in the same breath blaming conservatives for the actions of Loughner. Now, I don’t blame the sheriff for asking why. It is fine to look for reasons. It is not fine to be reckless and wrong. And it’s a sin when it’s born of indifference to Truth.

To be precise, Dupnik implicates right-wing talk radio—he mentioned Rush Limbaugh—and cable news in the Giffords shooting. Yet a number of obvious things seem to have eluded this man, this supposed professional investigator. For starters, if we’re actually going to analyze the politics of Loughner, we should note that one of his former classmates describes him as a “left wingâ€

The recent shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that critically injured Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords as well as killing six other innocent citizens brings the nation again to attempting to find reasons where they are least likely to be found. At this time authorities are still discovering many of the details; however, it has been reported that the shooter in the incident, Jared Lee Loughner, was a mentally unstable individual.

In almost all cases that involve the taking of an innocent life, the quest to find the answers as to why such atrocities take place is never adequately found. This comes in part because there is no answer for loved ones being prematurely taken from this earth that can ease the pain for those that remain. We all know and have grudgingly come to accept the nature cycle of life and the shooting in Arizona violates all that we hold acceptable when it comes to death. Unfortunately, the case of the Arizona shootings is at risk of being misdirected from honoring the dead and helping to heal the injured to promoting political agendas based on a false premise.

When I heard Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik start a political speech at the press briefing following the shooting, I could see the writing on the wall, “Conservatives need to shut up.â€
