Kidnappers Apprehended by CBP in Hidalgo

Hidalgo Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge apprehended a pair of fugitives wanted by the State of New York on State kidnapping charges.

On April 22, at 10:30 p.m., CBP officers working at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge met with Mexican police authorities at the U.S./México boundary lines and took custody of two U.S. citizen fugitives wanted by the State of New York on kidnapping charges.

CBP officers also took custody of the alleged kidnapped victim, an 8-year-old female. The male fugitive was identified as William Amacher, a U.S. citizen, age 40 and the female as Linda Wynn, a U.S. citizen, age 62. Both are from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. After their arrest, the fugitives were transferred to the custody of the local McAllen, Texas FBI office. Pending extradition proceedings, the man and woman remain incarcerated. The 8-year-old victim was released to the FBI and to her biological parent.
