When asked by police to produce identification, it’s best to make sure it’s real. A driver involved in a Wednesday car crash at the intersection of South Fry and the Katy Freeway was arrested for forgery of a government document, a felony, when he gave Harris County officers a fake alien registration card.

Officers doubted the card’s authenticity and confirmed it was a fake through the Department of Justice, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office.

Gerber Bonilla, 18, told them he bought it at a flea market, according to the statement. Bonilla is being held without bond and may or may not be deported.

“There’s an immigration detainer on him that will prevent him from being released until that decision is made,â€

Yes, this is near Houston Texas. For the past 20 years, police have refused to enforce driver's license and auto insurance laws against suspected illegals. The cops know the illegal will not pay fines and will not appear in traffic court, so why bother writing a ticket.

Sad but True. This guy will not be deported.
Frankly, I am suprised this made the news. This happens hundreds of times daily around here.

Another example as to why getting an education beyond the 5th grade is so important. Your less likely to be persuaded the drivers license you purchased at the flea market is valid!

Gerber is incredibly brazen or severely ignorant! Either way, it should be a one way ticket out of this country!

There's another nother bunch of flea markets along airline.
They sell fake ID's, fake SS cards, fake greencards, fake paper license plates, fake insurance cards...

There has been news coverage about these flea markets but no law enforment agency has ever bothered to do anything about it.

They even sell beer from mexico at these flea markets and no ID is needed to buy it, on any given weekend you can find underage kids drinking there.
