Tonight, President Bush defends his terror-fighting tactics. A
day after the New York Times uncovered a secret Justice
Department opinion that condoned brutal interrogation tactics,
Bush addressed the issue before reporters at the White House,
saying that the measures were part of his job to protect the
country and that the U.S. does not practice torture. The
criticisms of Bush add to mounting problems for a Republican
Party that’s already juggling scandals, defections, and planned
retirements in the Senate. Tonight we’ll have full coverage of
Bush’s interrogation tactics, the plight of GOP Senator Larry
Craig, and the rest of the news from Washington.

In a bold affront to the rule of law in the United States,
Mexico is urging its consulates in the U.S. to ramp up their
defense of illegal aliens. The move comes at time when local
and state governments are already attempting to do the job the
federal government has refused to do and crack down on
illegals. Now Mexico plans to create an "anti-defamation
league" and give its consulates more money to counter those who
oppose illegal immigration. Tune in for a Broken Borders report
on Mexico’s widening reach into U.S. affairs and recent
rhetoric from Mexican officials against U.S. efforts to enforce
immigration laws.

In our weekly tribute to the men and women who serve our nation
in uniform, we bring you the story of Sr. Chief Hospital
Corpsman Stephen Murray. Murray has spent much of his 20 years
with the Navy as a medical administrator, but in 2006, his
commander in Afghanistan asked him to step in as a combat
medic. He ended up risking his life to treat multiple soldiers’
injuries, and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for his
bravery. Please join us for that story, tonight.

And, we'll be joined by three of the country's best political
analysts to discuss all the stories in this week’s news: Robert
Zimmerman, Democratic National Committeeman, Michael Goodwin,
Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the New York Daily News
and Diana West of The Washington Times.
