Norman Company Accused of Encouraging Illegals

(Norman, OK) -- Federal prosecutors say a Norman company has routinely encouraged illegal immigration at its facility. Authorities have not filed any criminal charges against A-1 Electric Heat and Air itself, but they have charged an employee with concealing the commission of a felony. Forty-eight-year-old Virginia Hudson pled guilty to the charge on Monday, admitting to investigators that she knowing accepted false documentation from illegal immigrants beginning as far back as May of 2003. Federal authorities served a search warrant at the company last May, looking for evidence A-1 was willfully hiring illegal immigrants. Five such individuals were arrested at the company during the search. Prosecutors won't comment on the case until their investigation is complete. As for Hudson, she faces a maximum of three years behind bars when she is formally sentenced.
