Mexican man guilty of illegal re-entry to U.S.


CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Mexican man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to charges that he illegally re-entered the country after having been deported, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.


Adan Zamudio-Escalante, also known as Victor A. Giron, 32, admitted that he re-entered the country after having been deported in 2005, the news release states.


Charleston Police arrested Zamudio-Escalante after a traffic accident on Jan. 14, according to the release.


Zamudio-Escalante faces up to two years in prison when sentenced by U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. on Jan. 6.
