Congresswoman: White supremacists behind Arizona immigration law

WHITTIER - Rep. Linda Sanchez told a local Democratic Club Tuesday that she believes the white supremacist groups were behind the Arizona law on immigration.

"The Arizona laws are not a mistake," said Sanchez, D-Lakewood, referring to Arizona's S.B. 1070, that requires police enforcing another law to question a person about his or her immigration status if there is "reasonable suspicion" that the person is in the United States illegally and makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally.

"They're not accidental or one person's crazy idea.". "There's a concerted effort behind promoting these kinds of laws on a state-by-state basis by people who have ties to white supremacy groups," Sanchez said.

"It's been documented. It's not mainstream politics. (Legislators) are being approached by folks, who are front organizations who are white supremacist hate groups. They propose the language of these bills and get people to carry these bills in the state legislatures," she said.

Sanchez spoke before about 20 members of the Mark Twain Democratic Club's dinner meeting at Mimi's Cafe.

I'd have been embarrassed to make such an idiot accusation. But then again, I'm not a member of Congress.

Wow, anyone that believes her isn't paying attention. It's a well established fact that the majority of Americans, and Arizona citizens, support the law. Does Sanchez honestly feel we all support white supremacist groups and their beliefs? Even if she was right, which I don't think she is, any group can eventually come up with a good idea that could serve the public well. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

There we go the race card when all else fails pull that card.

When someone is a racist like Sanchez they believe most everyone opposed to their agenda is a racist also

i can almost guarantee that she got this from a Rachel Maddow interview with Dan Stein who went on the show to talk about the new Arizona immigration law, but Maddow went back and talked about everything in the past, trying to associate John Tanton and another guy with FAIR because they made statements when they were not associated with FAIR. Stein shot her down.
