MD/VA: Local border crossings
Local border crossings
Gov. Martin O’Malley, the Maryland General Assembly and politicians in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties appear to be laying the groundwork for a population exchange with Virginia and other neighboring states. The trading works this way: Maryland overtaxes tax small- and medium-sized computer businesses, but lays out the welcome mat for illegal aliens; meanwhile, Virginia yanks the welcome mat for illegals, but is prepared to welcome businesses from Maryland. Sound far-fetched? It really isn’t.
Arlo Wagner of The Washington Times recently reported on the fact that months after Prince William County began one of the country’s strongest crackdowns on illegal immigration, officials and residents say that illegals are leaving. That’s not surprising, because Virginia has become increasingly inhospitable to illegals and has barred them from obtaining driver’s licenses.
But Maryland has been moving in the opposite direction, with politicians permitting illegals to obtain driver’s licenses and putting out the welcome mat for them to resettle in the state. In October, when Prince William County enacted legislation allowing police to ask questions about immigration status, Montgomery County responded to reports that illegals were migrating to his county by complaining that Virginians were trying to “shift the burdenâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

all this nonsense pivoting around the concept, for some people, that illegal immigration is good for us; so they contrive everything else at the expense of common sense and common good. All this does is create impossible situations and when the pendulum swings back it will hurt a lot!

Oklahoma and Arizona have both implemented bills that enforce immigration laws and now Mississippi has passed a law to be implemented in the future resulting in ILLEGALS leaving these states and returning to their home country or moving to another state , maybe(Maryland?), in the United States to drain their resources. The Chamber of Commerce always claims to follow Immigration Laws but continuously become confused about the interpretation of the law.

Well, if Virginia will be getting alot of businesses and taxpaying US citizens (revenue generating) moving from Maryland, and Maryland will get all the freeloading illegal aliens (revenue draining)...we'll soon see which state ends up in the red, won't we?

100,000 Illegal Aliens Estimated to Have Left Oklahoma as a Result of Local Enforcement Measure
We’ve all heard the same line from Republicans and Democrats pushing a massive amnesty for illegal aliens: We have to find a way to “legalizeâ€Last edited by Jean; 07-20-2013 at 10:39 PM.

Us Virginians are more than happy to "shift the burden"! If Maryland wants to advertise itself as a sanctuary state, than it should expect that more ILLEGAL immigrants will come. I hope lots and lots are moving to Maryland. Maybe then this sanctuary state will come to the conclusion that the rest of the country has. I do feel bad for the people who live in Maryland and have to deal with this.

This pro-illegal, anti-illegal separation of the states is similar to before the Civil War where we had anti-slavery and pro-slavery states. I suppose eventually we will get 40 states without illegal aliens and 10 states with them, then at that point Congress can finally pass enforcement only immigration laws. I wonder what the 10 pro-illegal states will do at that point?
