Obama to meet with Mexico's Calderon on Monday

WASHINGTON — (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama plans to meet with Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Monday, according to a source familiar with the planning for the meeting.

The source noted that there is a longstanding tradition in which U.S. presidents have met with the Mexican leader prior to their inauguration.

Oh crap! Is Obama's Spanish adequate and is Calderon's English good, or does this meeting go through translators that may have their own agenda?
While this may be mainly a photo-op, I just hope that Obama won't up the $1.3 billion Merida initiative granted by Bushy to a government not in control of that country so they can buy armaments to fight the so-called drug war. We already unknowingly give them up to $20 billion a year in remittances from the US, their second biggest source of income after oil exports. There isn't much more we can afford to give.

This should be good! Calderon can't play the race card with Obama, won't work LOL.

Does the presiden-to-be meet with the president of Canada too? Or does he just have to kiss butt in Mexico?

Perhaps Canada is not such a threat to our country, since they mostly speak English. They probably also can't provide labor as cheaply as Mexico can, and what better reason to suck up to Mexico than to keep the US Chamber gang happy?

Stop all immigration now we are running out of job's and we don't need any more mouths to feed. We lost Millions of job but they keep bringing more and more in all the time.Now you tell me do we need all these people what we do need is people that are competant and are looking out for American not the Incompetant politicians we have had for the last 20 years or so.
