SALEM, N.H. - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney continued to take a hard line on illegal immigration tonight, illustrating the central role the topic has taken in the presidential race.
In response to questions from several voters at the Derry-Salem Elks Club, the former Massachusetts governor stressed the need to build a border fence, crack down on employers of illegal immigrants, use English immersion in schools, and deny welfare benefits to illegal immigrants.

Thank you Mitt Romney. Keep up the good work and good messaging on stopping illegal immigration. Over all, you've done the most and said the most on this issue and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this one of your top issues in the 2012 campaign. Add the FairTax to your platform and message, and I'll send you a Valentine in February and vote for you early and often next November.
