IMMIGRANT GROUPS SEND OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR

A statewide collective of immigrant and refugee rights organizations are sending Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger an open letter today, calling on him to retract support for the Minuteman Project, a vigilante group along the Mexican border in Arizona.

"Your position is inciting bigotry and undermining the rights of California's immigrant communities. Your words of support are giving cover to hate groups and encourage racial discrimination and hate against those perceived to be the most vulnerable,'' the letter states.

"Your support for vigilantes amounts to calling for attacks on immigrants and diminishes their civil rights,'' it continues.

More than 15 groups from around the state have endorsed the letter, which comes in response to a string of recent comments made by Schwarzenegger on immigration.

"As governor, it is your responsibility to protect and promote the rights and interests of all California residents, regardless of their immigration or citizenship status, to live, work, worship, study and play free from fear or hate,'' the groups write in the letter.

The letter closes by urging Schwarzenegger to "ensure the integration of all immigrant communities into the mainstream of California.''

Well, well.....isn't that the old phoney "race and hate card" of the Open Borders Lobby that wants to end our Nation?

Sure looks like an effort to "influence public policy"...I sure hope these many "groups" aren't 501 C 3 organizations who as public charities are not allowed to "influence public policy or legislation".

Can we get the names of these entities?

Isnt it great how so many pro-illegal immigration groups are making the news?

That's quite an inaccuracy IMO. His responsibility as governor is to uphold the constitution of the US...defend the rights of AMERICAN citizens.

Arnold has an email site. Everyone can email them direct!! Plus we can write a jointly signed letter from ALIPAC. Does someone know how to prepare such a letter technically speaking? I'll find Arnold's website and post it here so we can get letters in to him in the meantime. Back Back.

Judy, thanx for the link. It worked for me. I did email the govenor thanking him for his efforts in combatting this invasion. I hope many of you will do the same.

I want all to know just how important it is that we let our elected politicians know how we feel on this issue, Lord knows they don't have ESP. I wonder sometimes if some of them have any perception at all let alone ESP especially those inside the beltway of Raleigh and DC?
