By Bill Hoban

A Sonoma man facing numerous drug charges is being held on a no-bail ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) hold in Sonoma County Jail while a Glen Ellen man is in federal custody, also on an ICE hold, after a drug bust in Sonoma the last part of January.

According to Sgt. Dave Pedersen, with the sheriff's Valley substation, a deputy made a traffic stop at about 5 p.m. on Jan. 26, on Arnold Drive near Sobre Vista Drive. The driver, Alfredo Moreno, 21, of Eldridge, was an unlicensed driver and so his vehicle was towed.

During a search of Moreno's vehicle, deputies found 39 bags of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine adding up to a total of five ounces. Acting upon information found in the vehicle, deputies got a search warrant for a residence in the 400 block of Linda Drive where they discovered an additional 44 bags of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine weighing seven ounces.

Deputies arrested Jose Luis Lopez, 24, of Glen Ellen, at the Linda Drive residence.

Moreno is being held in Sonoma County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for sale and transportation of cocaine for sale. Lopez, who is in federal custody, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession for sale of a narcotic controlled substance.
